TOOLING
Future Die Cast designs and builds tooling directly from CAD models usually provided by the customer. However, Future offers design and engineering support for those customers who would like our input.
For example, Future can convert sand castings, steel fabrications or CNC machined parts to reduce weight, cost and improve dimensional repeatability.
After tool design is completed, our tool building equipment is programmed to produce the cavity blocks, slides and ejector plates, as well as other components required for the rapid build and assembly process. Our tool room is programmed to run on a 24/7 basis to ensure that we are able to meet our 3 – 6 week tool build objective for P20
steel high pressure dies.
In many cases we are able to use common components to reduce both cost and timing. It should be noted that our tools should
not be considered “pull ahead” tooling. That is, they cannot be transferred to another die caster and incorporated into his tool build for a variety of reasons. We do, in fact, build a few
H13 steel dies per year for our own use in those cases where volume or geometry dictates a more durable tool.
Future also builds aluminum molds for injection molded plastic components. (See
plastic parts)
